Sunrise of Arlington Virginia

From $6,019/mo

2000 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA, 22207
Assisted Living, Memory Care

"My father lived at Sunrise of Arlington for the last 4 months of his life. I really wanted to give Sunrise the highest marks because the front-line staff who do the daily caretaking of residents are very kind and compassionate, and I think they do a very difficult job about as well as could be expected. I was very touched by their kindness at times. An organization is only as strong as its weakest link, however, and given our experience with the director of medical care there, I cannot recommend Sunrise. The lack of compassion and even professionalism made the final weeks of my father's life and the experience of his death much harder for him and the family than it needed to be. At the time of our greatest distress, the medical director responded to our needs and concerns with callous indifference. When choosing Sunrise for dad, I was focused on daily living questions but it turns out, the medical director is by far the most important position there." - Sam…

Sunrise of Mclean

From $6,050/mo

8315 Turning Leaf Lane, McLean, VA, 22102
Assisted Living, Memory Care

"My father is a reminiscent resident on the 3rd floor at Sunrise McLean since June 2021 as part of their 6-week Road to Home Program to recover from surgery, He was weak & frail but, the staff brought him back to being healthy & vibrant again. His dementia was progressing and knowing that I could no longer give my father the kind of care he needed, I made the difficult decision to extend his stay. I could not be happier with that decision. The staff on the 3rd floor – from the management team to care managers, to PT, to the front desk, & finally, the facilities staff – are the best. I go nearly every day, & the care is consistently excellent. It takes a unique set of skills to give care to reminiscent residents; Sunrise McLean hit the jack pot with the staff on the 3rd floor; residents are treated as family, w/love & affection; the staff works as a team and in partnership to give the best care to their residents. Sunrise McLean, keep up the good work!" - Katherine…

"My mother moved to The Goodwin House in Alexandria a few years after my father passed away. She absolutely loved it. She had a sunny one-bedroom apartment, and she participated in a number of activities and classes that were offered. She made new friends and enjoyed delicious dinners and, often, musical programs in the evenings. When her health declined and she had to move onto the healthcare unit, I knew she would be well cared for. I was only three hours away and could visit her often. I am so grateful to everyone on the staff for the delicious meals, interesting activities and local trips, and the wonderful care they took of my mom. Everyone was professional, yet compassionate and thoughtful" - Sue…
