Goodwin House Alexandria is a well-regarded senior living community offering a continuum of care from independent living to skilled nursing. Many reviewers appreciate the friendly and supportive environment, with staff praised for their professionalism and care. The community offers a variety of activities, including art and woodworking studios, a gym, and musical events, fostering a vibrant social atmosphere. Residents enjoy the well-maintained facilities, which include a dining area with good food options, although some find the food in skilled nursing less fresh. The grounds are well-kept, and the apartments are described as lovely, though some find them small and expensive. The community is noted for its welcoming environment, with residents often forming close-knit social groups. However, some reviewers mention a need for family involvement to ensure personalized care. The location is somewhat suburban, requiring transportation for errands. Renovations aim to attract younger residents, though some feel this overlooks current residents' needs. The pool and exercise room have limited access, which some find inconvenient. Overall, Goodwin House Alexandria is praised for its comprehensive care, community spirit, and quality facilities, making it a top choice for many seeking senior living options.

Sue

March 2023

My mother moved to The Goodwin House in Alexandria a few years after my father passed away. She absolutely loved it. She had a sunny one-bedroom apartment, and she participated in a number of activities and classes that were offered. She made new friends and enjoyed delicious dinners and, often, musical programs in the evenings. When her health declined and she had to move onto the healthcare unit, I knew she would be well cared for. I was only three hours away and could visit her often. I am so grateful to everyone on the staff for the delicious meals, interesting activities and local trips, and the wonderful care they took of my mom. Everyone was professional, yet compassionate and thoughtful
