"Heartis is a beautiful facility but the management is terrible. We paid a large deposit for my mother-in-law to move into their assisted living, only to find out almost two weeks later that they would not take her due to a recent shortage in caregiver staff in assisted living and concerns that they could not take on another high level of care patient. We were annoyed that it took so long for a decision and that the communication was terrible. The lady I spoke with had only worked there a week. In the end I am glad we did not move my mother-in-law there due to the incompetence that we have experienced. "The Arbor Terrace of John's Creek is one of my very favorites. They have some of the best programming for memory care. I love their “Bridge Program,” because it makes this community perfect for loved ones with beginning to mid stage dementia or Alzheimer's. "Belmont Village Johns Creek is a mixed bag, but I'd still give it four stars. The place is clean, and the staff are friendly and quick to help out. They're pros, caring and always there for you. The grounds are beautiful too. But, some folks say the apartments are too small and it's hard to meet people. There's worries about meds and extra costs too. Food's mostly good, like fine dining! Plenty to do to keep busy, and staff love it here. Still, some worry about management. Overall, it's recommended for the caring staff, great food, and activities. "Celebration Village is a beautiful facility, and the building itself is well maintained. Unfortunately, in my experience, the quality of care has declined over the years. I have personally experienced poor communication, difficulty reaching management, and concerns about staffing. There seems to be frequent staff turnover, and I’ve observed a lack of consistent leadership, particularly in the memory care unit. It is often difficult to get in touch with a director or receive timely responses when concerns arise. I also found interactions with the Director of Nursing to be unprofessional and disrespectful. My experience was that staff were not always treated fairly or with respect, which contributes to the high turnover. A positive workplace culture is essential when caring for a vulnerable population, and leadership sets the tone for the quality of care residents receive. This facility has tremendous potential. "My parents have been at Arbor Terrace for more than 3 years now. They wanted a place where they could age in place together and since the community offers a variety of different care types it fit perfectly. Both my parents are very independent now ad are in a villa. The Hamilton mill neighborhod is very active, a lot of shopping and restaurants nearby and a huge bonus for my Dad was the golf club nearby that he visits on a weekly basis. "Magnolia is not a place I would not want to put my loved one. The management is the worst I have ever seen, uncommunicative ,unprofessional and honorably and book keeping. Staff, when you can find them was Ok. The rooms are Ok but too far from the staff station. Again staff was never around. When my loved one passed, part of the contract we signed, which by way ended up having various errors. But the contract stated that would receive the unused funds for the month that my loved one was not in the facility. My loved one was of little means and we needed those funds to bury our loved one. I would not recommend Magnolia. We have had experience with 4 other care facilities and Magnolia was the worst by far. The only reason we had to place our loved one in Magnolia was because we were between a rock and a hard place for was asked to move our loved one because was mostly bed bound. "Since Alto took over in Oct 2024, this facility has gone downhill—especially in Memory Care. It's now severely understaffed, poorly managed, and unsafe. Temp workers unfamiliar with residents are common, care plans are ignored, and basic needs like toileting and meds are often missed. There were 7 months with no activities. Food is cold or inedible. Several residents have gotten out unsupervised; others were injured. Families who raise concerns face retaliation—some received 30-day notices. Alto does NOT support aging in place. Cameras are allowed but staff are told to cover them, limiting oversight. Communication from management is nearly nonexistent. If your loved one is independent, maybe they’ll be okay—but for anyone needing real care, this is not a safe place. Look elsewhere. Families deserve better." - Anony… Read more

"When visiting the facility, I was told by a gentleman in the parking lot who said his mom lives there that the food was one of the best things about the place -- and that's one of the main reasons I chose it. Unfortunately, that couldn't be further from the truth. The food is absolutely terrible. I wouldn't serve some of it to anyone. The kitchen can't keep a cook, and there is constant turnover. The meals look and taste like something thrown together with no care at all. I wish that I could post pictures so you can see for yourself what they are calling "lasagna" on the menu. It looks like it is missing marinara sauce and was filled with something that could pass for cat pate. You can't even tell that it is what it is. My mom sends me photos of her meals all the time, and it's heartbreaking. I've resorted to taking her grocery shopping so she can have something decent to eat.
