"Belmont Village Johns Creek is a mixed bag, but I'd still give it four stars. The place is clean, and the staff are friendly and quick to help out. They're pros, caring and always there for you. The grounds are beautiful too. But, some folks say the apartments are too small and it's hard to meet people. There's worries about meds and extra costs too. Food's mostly good, like fine dining! Plenty to do to keep busy, and staff love it here. Still, some worry about management. Overall, it's recommended for the caring staff, great food, and activities. "Celebration Village is a beautiful facility, and the building itself is well maintained. Unfortunately, in my experience, the quality of care has declined over the years. I have personally experienced poor communication, difficulty reaching management, and concerns about staffing. There seems to be frequent staff turnover, and I’ve observed a lack of consistent leadership, particularly in the memory care unit. It is often difficult to get in touch with a director or receive timely responses when concerns arise. I also found interactions with the Director of Nursing to be unprofessional and disrespectful. My experience was that staff were not always treated fairly or with respect, which contributes to the high turnover. A positive workplace culture is essential when caring for a vulnerable population, and leadership sets the tone for the quality of care residents receive. This facility has tremendous potential. "I strongly suggest you stay away from the Mansions at Alpharetta!! The Mansions consistently raises rent, even when they go weeks without housekeeping because they are so short staffed! It NEVER smells clean after they leave. I wouldn’t be surprised if they cleaned with water to cut costs. Coupled with the food which was so sub-par it defied definition! There was no consistency, the menu did not provide sufficient fruits, vegetables, and daily nutrients--and was completely unacceptable. The portions were meager, and my mom has lost a tremendous amount of weight. The Mansions is consistently under staffed. It’s a revolving door. They have an inability to hire, train, and retain employees! It’s someone new each week which says A LOT about a company in whole. There was no protocol in place when a fire alarm went off one night. "The Arbor Terrace of John's Creek is one of my very favorites. They have some of the best programming for memory care. I love their “Bridge Program,” because it makes this community perfect for loved ones with beginning to mid stage dementia or Alzheimer's. Residents are evaluated on a Gem level/scale of behaviors and capabilities… Which makes it easier for families to understand the journey that their loved one is going through. It's not only a beautiful presentation, but their hearts are in the right place! They worked with my schedule and went out of their way to do things the way we were used to so that the move would be easier. "The community tours well. Living there is a different story. My father has lived at Atria North Point for 4 years. During that time, his rent increased 38% while services have steadily declined. The tipping point came when I found my 83-year-old father, who has Parkinson's, with significant dried blood on his face, it went unnoticed by staff all morning until my dad mentioned it, they changed the sheets, told him to "be careful," and moved on. My concern was never how the injury happened, it was the lack of assessment, documentation, or follow-up once staff knew about it. Other ongoing issues include a drain fly infestation in his apartment for over 2 years, declining housekeeping, staffing shortages, difficulty locating nursing staff, and activities that often amount to TV or bingo. The AL side has only one elevator. When it breaks down, mobility-impaired residents are effectively trapped on their floor unless they can navigate stairs. "Heartis is a beautiful facility but the management is terrible. We paid a large deposit for my mother-in-law to move into their assisted living, only to find out almost two weeks later that they would not take her due to a recent shortage in caregiver staff in assisted living and concerns that they could not take on another high level of care patient. We were annoyed that it took so long for a decision and that the communication was terrible. The lady I spoke with had only worked there a week. In the end I am glad we did not move my mother-in-law there due to the incompetence that we have experienced.
