"My mother has been at Cedarhurst of Des Peres for about six weeks now. When we move my mom in, they gave her a little competency test and said that she would be able to take her own medication’s but less than 48 hours later, they said she wasn’t taking them right and took them away from her and added $1700 to our bill for them to administer her meds. They then add $250 a month on top of that for her to use her Pharmacy. My mom very much wanted to use her own because she trust them and she recognizes her meds. They added cost and confusion is causing her a lot of stress. Response to call light is often as much as two hours. She cannot use her bathroom sink have to pay extra for them to help her brush her teeth and clean up. They do not employ the amount of staff that they told us they did. Some staff are very helpful in some are downright rude and unhelpful. "Extremely dissatisfied with the level of competency of this facility, customer service up to the corporate level, and follow through of their own business practices or claims. My grandmother became a resident of this facility and after falling 4 times, needed hospitalization and outside therapy services. She is no longer welcome back at Cedarhurst. To me, this means that either in 10.5 days time, my grandmother has significantly regressed past the maximum level of care, or her evaluation should have never allowed her to be accepted as a resident in the first place. The latter of which is more likely true. This company claims to have a 60 day money back guarantee. After 10 days in this facility and just over a month past her move in date, local offices have finally returned calls and denied our refund request. It has been less than 60 days since she moved in and now she is not allowed back. We’re still waiting on a returned call from corporate. High Turnover and Lack of Leadership Stability There has been continual turnover in both nursing and administrative management since my parents moved in.
