"I recently moved from Virginia to Brookdale Southside. I can't even begin to say enough wonderful things about this community. Every single person has been so friendly, helpful, respectful, knowledgeable and just plain amazing. As I handled all aspects of the move on my own (with the love and support of my family) I could not have completed this move as quickly or as painlessly without Victoria, Karen, C.C. and so many others who welcomed me even before I actually made it down here. I absolutely love it here! The campus is beautiful, my apartment is all updated and I have plenty of room. Honestly, I have found the food to be really good and I am a very picky eater. Gretchen, et al, at the front desk have also been such a help and so patient with me. It's easy to keep busy and make new friends. "Initially, I was very grateful to have found Pacifica Senior Living Sunrise, and their amazing team. Beautifully decorated, and well-kept property and community. The community and residents are very warm and inviting. Then, I discovered mold in my mom’s apartment during the first week of October and promptly informed the maintenance team. Unfortunately, the actions taken did not remove the mold and my mother continues to experience symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, runny nose, aches, and pains for months, which the Dr confirmed are directly related to mold exposure. I escalated the matter to Pacifica’s Executive Director, and she coordinated with maintenance to treat the mold, requiring my mother to vacate the apartment temporarily. While the maintenance team applied mold treatment and repainted the ceiling, my mother continued to find mold on personal belongings including shoes, purses, and towels. "I want people to know that my aunt is very well treated in the memory care community and she can keep up with her active lifestyle with the outdoor courtyards. The Care has been great so far especially Markeye who has been a huge help in the memory care side. It’s been a couple months so far and I feel safe with her there and happy with the result of the decision that we made. I was able to find a place close to my home for the price that we wanted. "The pricing at this facility is simply out of control and they've just raised it all again! The latest increase is tacking on another $4 grand a year. Theres no nexus seen to their higher rates and improved services. It's really quite the opposite. Management has reduced staffing on nights, weekends and holidays to level of one staff per floor. Waits exist for response. Nobody is really in charge and there is no supervision. Overtime is abused that wears out staff doing the most work and inflating care costs. Adding fuel to fire, about 2 of 3 staff are new, inexperienced and untrained. Thefts occur here consisting of Residents clothing, personal items and supplies. Two staff were recently fired for mishandling narcotic prescriptions. Accidents happen injuring Residents. There's lack of customer focus, food is terrible and care staff rules the roost! Last week, Residents we know were moved out by their families for relocation to other facilities because of their runaway pricing." - J… Read more

"We toured The Cottages while exploring memory care for our grandmother, and I was blown away. The community is full of life, lots of outings to Palm Beach for ice cream shops, Flagler, a trip to the zoo, and the local animal shelter, the other places had trips to nowhere and dollar tree... This calendar has live entertainment, neat games, staff who clearly love what they do. The food selection looks good, and another family said the new cook is wonderful. "I recently moved my parents into the independent living area of Mirabelle, and it has been a great experience. The staff at Mirabelle were incredibly helpful throughout the transition, and they continue to provide excellent service with a genuine care for the residents. The building is beautiful and immaculately kept, with plenty of activities to fill the days. My mom is in early stages of dementia but is able to participate in activities within the memory-care area. The neighborhood is perfect too – a micro-city that offers a wide variety of shopping and dining options with easy access to great medical care. "Our mother is no longer at Mandarin Central. She fell while there and broke her arm. Because of her dementia, she doesn't take care to not move it around, and healing is delayed. Because she now needs more personal assistance (at least until her arm heals and she regains use of her right arm) we had to move her to Crown Point. We were very happy with Mandarin Central, and mother seemed to settle there nicely, made some friends. Now she has to start over at Crown Point! We also found that some of the services we were paying for were not as comprehensive as we thought. Also found that the "all inclusive" care at Crown Point isn't - up to $30 per day EXTRA if she needs help with her arm in the sling." - Yvonne… Read more

After a year of daily visits to my mom, I am able to sleep peacefully knowing that my 100 year old mother is safe and happy and well taken care of. I give the facility the highest recommendation for personal service, cleanliness, meal preparation and daily social activities. "Grand Living at Tamaya presents itself as a luxury assisted living community offering first-class care. Unfortunately, my on-site, daily experience tells a very different story. While the setting is undeniably beautiful and the food is good, those positives do not come close to compensating for the serious deficiencies in resident care and oversight, especially given that this is one of the most expensive communities in the area and has received a failing grade. The team is personable and nice. However, there are major staffing issues. Call buttons frequently go unanswered for extended periods, sometimes more than an hour. There is frequently one caregiver assigned to care for residents on two floors. I estimate that to be about forty-five residents. Resident care lacks consistency, coordination, and accountability.
