"Although we only recently made the move, so far Brightview Fair Oaks has been extremely positive experience. The staff is warm and welcoming, and they have been extremely helpful to me and my family. I live in a different state, and they made process of touring and moving in pretty manageable from a distance. Because they are so close to D.C., they have a good social activities calendar - things like a tour of the Library of Congress, etc. Of course that's not every day, but my mom usually has at least one activity each day that she's excited about, which takes a bit of pressure off of me. "Poor staff training, constant staff turnover, some staff are not fluent in English. Orchestrated covering up of poor transfers, falls and wounds. Lip service to family concerns but no change in methods to address problems. Systemic failures from top Executive Director, to nursing to caregivers.
