"I stayed at Bayberry for two weeks of rehab following a two-week hospitalization at NY Presbyterian. While I want to sincerely thank the excellent PT, OT staff, and the Activity Director—all of whom were compassionate, professional, and highly competent—my experience with the nursing care and administration left me deeply concerned. While some nurses and aides were attentive, others showed a disturbing lack of empathy, especially toward vulnerable residents. One elderly woman would cry out for help repeatedly at night. She was often ignored for hours, even when she managed to crawl into the hallway from her bed (which had been placed on the floor for fall prevention). I personally witnessed night staff literally walk around her, rather than assist. "This is the worst short term rhab in the world I have been here 2 weeks and lost four pound they have the most unhealthy food choices available everything is unhealthy and no choices for vegan or vegetarians white bread flour and all unhealthy sources of food for people trying to heal. Often food comes attached to bugs or flies wheel chairs smell limestone linemen smell like bodies oder this place is unsanitary and neglectful to patients it needs to be investigated and shutdowns it a disgrace to humanity when picking this rehab I madea more sanitary facility.
