"I was a short-term resident of this facility, and I have family members who have been residents there as well. My personal experience, as well as the experiences of my family members at this facility has been very positive. The facility's Administration has an open door policy and has been willing to listen to issues or concerns I had or my family members had, and then quickly addressed them. Staff members, from Nurses, to CNAs, to Housekeepers and Maintenance have been highly responsive and attentive, and the facility is kept very clean. The facility also has an excellent Physical and Occupational Therapy staff who really go out of their way to work with the residents who receive therapy. "It is the most disgusting place I've ever seen. Drive up and it looks like an abandoned housing project. The smell of piss and filth hits you at the front door. The inside is filthy. Curtains have to be 30 years old. They hand off the rod with the hold hooks. My family member was placed here by the VA for hospice. It's a disgrace that are heros are left to having to live in a puppy mill kennel. There are residents smoking in their rooms and the nurse and aids just walk by. "Aperion Care DOES NOT live up to it's promise of caring for your lived one as they state in their welcoming !! My father was in their care ( Dolton,Il) for less than a year before I took him out. In that short time he developed Sepsis, COVID, severe dehydration, all his clothing was lost ( probably stolen) and falls and none of the staff or nurses took any accountability. Mngmt ignored my calls ( I called and visited frequently) staff was very rude and dismissive. Terrible place for any one you love to be cared for.
