"Well, expect lots of surprises, and not in a good way. My parents signed a contract October 23 of 2023. They moved in October 26 of 2023 and received a letter of notification that their rent would be increasing January 2024. Their lease agreement terminology is vague and non-specific and so is there letter of notification. The director promptly left for his cruise vacation and was gone for 12 days leaving residents concerned about their increases and budgets. They are frustrated, angry and upset, and they have every right to be. TM has our investment money, if I had it to do over again, I would read every letter of their contract. "Memory Care Unit - I have 8 years of experience managing my mother's dementia care in 3 different memory care. What I learned is this disease is difficult to manage, even in the best of situations. I've seen poor facilities and just ok facilities, but never great ones. So my expectations are low. But Tradition has scored a zero for their care of my mother in law. Three times in the past month we have called the facility and never got through to the staff on her floor. Terminal hold, phone systems down, etc. I asked the receptionist for the direct number to the memory care floor, but was told all calls have to go through the receptionist. Translation "We won't give you that number". My sister-in-law put a video camera in her mom's room so she knows when her mom has fallen and needs staff assistance. "We chose Sage Valley Senior Living for the quality of care it promised. Unfortunately, our experience has raised serious concerns about our mother's safety and well-being. Despite paying for a higher level of care, she has fallen six times in her room due to delayed staff assistance for nighttime toileting. "Do NOT place your loved one at Landon Ridge. If your loved one exhibits signs of decline, they will not notify you. If the signs become notably worse, they will not notify you. If an ambulance has to be called, they will not contact you. If your loved one declines being taken to the hospital against the advise of EMS, they will not contact you. You will not have the opportunity, when given so many of them, to be informed of the situation until it is too late. The protocols at Landon Ridge are significantly flawed and not followed. We scheduled a meeting with LeAnn and the employee who was working the day of the incident to find out what happened. Plenty of details were shared. It was made clear that they willing did not follow state protocols - or their own. They could not provide a reason for dropping the ball, only a sorry. "The facility is pretty. This was a nice place when my mom moved in, but has declined since Aspenwood took over the property. We are on Executive Director number eight in the past two years. Quinton, Brenda and Wayne are long gone. The food is inedible at times, and often served undercooked and cold. There are not enough activities, and listed activities oten do not happen. There are some great caregivers, but the facility is so understaffed, wait times for help are often very long (20+ minutes) and key manager positions go unfilled, including a nurse in charge. "ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE INTO BROOKDALE SHADOWLAKE...unless you want unprofessional, dishonest, and never ending increases of your care plan price!! Majority of the care staff do not care about their job and would rather be on their phones and have no clue how to professionally communicate, they are untrained and many do not show up to work or come in late,. Fees increase frequently with "assessments", management would rather push incidences under the rug or cover than properly address with staff. I have been told numerous times "if you don't come as much you won't see the issues." Activity calendar is an illusion of what "happens" with the weekends being the worse. 200% please do not put your loved on at Shadowlake .... there are much more amazing communities out there, even really close to Shadowlake!!!
