"Bethany Home and Mr. Ari Nagy embody the living nightmare that all families with loved ones with Dementia try to avoid and to which they should never be subjected. Bethany was represented as a Skilled Nursing Facility. Its contract states, “This facility is a non-medical care facility which is not allowed to provide 24-hour skilled nursing care.” Nor does Bethany employ caretakers and/or safety protocols that would qualify it as a Memory Care Facility. The outside of the 3-story building is shiny and new. The interior is dark, stark, austere, and in poor condition (i.e., broken floor tiles = tripping hazard). The ‘dining room’ is a small wooden table with four chairs. Staff said most residents eat in their rooms. Bethany claims 3:1 ratio; observed 15:1, at best. No security; not even sign-in and out observed. Took Mom out before 3 days passed. Ari agreed with 'discharge,' and said would refund prepaid funds so to be fair and right. Did not happen.
