"I don't recommend anyone move to this place, the other day my toilet was backed up and I kept telling the staff if they could send someone to plunge it for me so this went on for 4 days and I finally got so mad that I had to go down to the front desk and said just give me the plunger I'll do it myself so they finally sent someone up to plunge it and it took 2 seconds to plunge.the residents here are always asking you for cigarettes and a few seconds later they are outside smoking they have cigarettes but they would rather smoke yours . The other day I went to the front to sweep up most of cigarettes butts because it was starting to look nasty so when I was sweeping them up this one resident came outside to smoke and when this person was done smoking they threw their cigarettes butts on the floor right in front of me. I used to get sick like once every 3 years and now I get sick like once a month now the residents here get sick and touch everything and they have hand sanitizer stations all over the place but the residents here don't use them. The food here is like prison food the other day I ordered a breakfast burrito in the morning and they bought me a burrito with just eggs in it so I told the server to take it back and tell the cook I wanted a real breakfast burrito not just a burrito with just eggs in it and I waited for a half hour and they never came back so I got tired of waiting so I just got up and left" - Christopher… Read more

"I did tour huger with Rita last week at that time I put my husband’s name on the waitlist. After much thought I have decided to remove my husband’s name. I loved the grounds and staff. My take on the cottages is they would be a firetrap. They are old, not well maintained and completely out dated. If it is necessary for the Phx police to have a desk on sight, the neighborhood is not safe for elderly people with dementia. Huger might keep all their patients busy but they do not keep them safe. "I am my sister's legal guardian and she has lived there several years. The staff turnover has been really bad. There were 2 executive directors there at first that were wonderful. But both left abs was replaced by Jessie. He is the worst director I've EVER encountered. And I speak from knowledge on both sides as I'm an RN with decades of experience in dealing with EDs. My sister has an increasingly time sensitive situation that I need to discuss with him. I have left him FIVE VM over FIVE weeks without a response. He even told my sister when she asked about him calling me that he knew he needed to. And that was over a week ago and before my last 2 VM. There are many who work there that also say he rarely follows thru on things he says he'll do. "I can not say enough about how appreciative I am of the care and compassion Quail Manor staff and the owner Colleen provided my mom for the past 5 years. I have been an ER nurse for 20+ years and have seen the end results of poor care provided to some care home residents. I never had a complaint with the staff at Quail Manor. My mom was well cared for, never had any breakdown of her skin the entire 5 years, never had covid and the staff truly loved and cared about her. If the staff or Colleen felt something was just “off” about my mom or maybe she did not eat well that day, I would receive a call or text that day.
