"Memory Care Unit - I have 8 years of experience managing my mother's dementia care in 3 different memory care. What I learned is this disease is difficult to manage, even in the best of situations. I've seen poor facilities and just ok facilities, but never great ones. So my expectations are low. But Tradition has scored a zero for their care of my mother in law. Three times in the past month we have called the facility and never got through to the staff on her floor. Terminal hold, phone systems down, etc. I asked the receptionist for the direct number to the memory care floor, but was told all calls have to go through the receptionist. Translation "We won't give you that number". My sister-in-law put a video camera in her mom's room so she knows when her mom has fallen and needs staff assistance.
