"My mom moved into the New England Club when she was in her mid 80's as she was not capable physically of maintaining her house. She no longer drove and life in suburbia was getting lonely. At NEC she enjoyed playing bridge and being with other older people. She was as active as possible--going regularly to the exercise room and taking part in group exercise classes. She was very comfortable. She was able to get around for quite a while and then was in a wheelchair (electric and later aide-propelled) I was pondering moving her to a nursing home, but NEC was abe to handle stuff pretty well. She lived the remaining time of her life with them. I was able to purchase added care and she was able to stay in a place that was familiar to her. There is even a nurse practitioner that comes to treat patients which was better than going out!! Mom and my sister and I felt that NEC was a good place for her." - Nancy…
