"Waltonwood lake Boone is a perfectly nice place with friendly and committed staff. But, for the price the independent living side is not competitive. This is due to the national management policies. There really isn’t transportation. Food quality is inconsistent, not very nutritious, and very limited options especially for people who don’t eat meat. Very limited trips to local venues like theatre, lectures, music, museums. And since only one small bus, can’t take all who want to go. No pool, and no transportation to nearby pool that is recommended. House keeping is only every other week. There is not a linen service. "We are on the waiting list for The Pines in Davidson, NC, a CCRC. However, it is expensive and it appears that we are "aging out" there. Richard Fielding took us down to Williams Place and we toured the facility. We liked it and the cost was more suitable. Our concern there is with the long term care aspect, they don't have in house facilities like The Pines. They give not only the medical care you would expect, but the staff genuinely cares and loves on the residents. "My mom fell in July and broke her hip. By God’s grace and provision we were able to get a spot for her at Countryside Manor. I was so thrilled because it was only about 7 minutes from my house. I have never felt so easy leaving my mom in their care. They were so professional yet so caring and loving. I cannot say one thing negative about this place and the people who work there. "FACILITY! If I could give it a -10 stars that's what they deserve! They are liars and thieves! My friend's 1 bedroom apartment was $3700 per month and that was one of the less expensive ones. For that you get 1 meal per day, transportation to Dr appointments two days a week, light housekeeping every other week (we were told that would be once a week) and activities geared toward 90 year old residents. He is 67 and has no interest in bingo or any of those other activities. Employee turnover is unbelievable! THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL NEWER FACILITY! DO NOT LET THAT ATTRACT YOU! They are liars, incompetent and most employees and managers are rude and liars. There's so much more information about this horrible experience but this review is long enough. We finally finished getting him out of there December 30th 2024! "My mom moved in the the assisted living facility when it opened in June 2025. Her room and the overall accommodations are very nice. The direct care staff are friendly and provide excellent care. Food is also very good. Our biggest problem as been multiple price increases including a level of care re-assessment after 30 days which increased monthly cost by nearly $2000. This was after a thorough assessment prior to moving in. In addition, the facility has increased my mom's rates on both level of care and base rate after the new year, resulting in an additional $2000/mo. I understand costs associated with caring for our loved ones, but had we known that our "rent" would increase by $4000/ mo in just 6 months, we would have certainly looked at alternative options. While Harmony presents a warm and welcoming environment during tours and initial interactions, our experience revealed a disconnect between that image and the actual practices in place.
