All staff work really hard but there just aren’t enough with the few trying to cover multiple jobs every day. Quality of food is cheap but well prepared. Often takes 90 minutes to get dinner and they sometimes run out of the daily offering before they get to the last tables. ""Taking Mom out of Las Soleras" It's been months, for at least the last six months, Las Soleras has been such a negative place for my mother to be in. For not being able to get maintenance for a simple repair of a dryer hose reattachment to the wall (my husband had to do it). We couldn't even have the balcony door set back onto the sliding runners. The latest disgusting incident was (again) finding dog feces in the small movie theater room. Even if the feces wasn't there, we couldn't have stayed because the heating doesn't work and it's too cold for Mom to sit in there. Mom has told us there has been feces on the carpet before, but this was the first time I found it. And yes, I've seen the yellow stains on the carpet. Those areas smell of urine. For what we are paying in rent, including the last recent 18% rent increase, this is disgusting. No air conditioning/ heat, animal waste in common areas, enough is enough. We're done! This was an absolute God send for my family. The minute we walked through the door to tour the facility I knew this was the place for my sister. They keep the residents busy with field trips, multiple activities, entertainment, and a coffee bar that stays well stocked all day. The fees are reasonable and include rent, housekeeping once a week and they will change and launder bedding and towels. All utilities, cable, meals, and Wi-Fi are included. They offer transportation to doctor appointments and will take you shopping if you need essentials. Erika, the sales manager, is a gem. She answered all of our questions. "It is a sparse facility with mediocre staff. There are just enough staff to fulfill the licensing requirements with just one RN for the entire enterprise! Meager supplies are provided. Grotesque food that lacks taste, presentation and nutrition. Relatives of the patients will find themselves purchasing the bare necessities for their loved ones while paying close to $6,000 a month for “services” that are sporadically provided. Forget about quality of care, attentive staff or efficient management. The staff and management are far more interested in their mobile phones and conversations than the patients, their needs and the medical orders for their care.
