This score is determined using a comprehensive set of criteria, including sentiment analysis of online ratings and reviews, user-submitted feedback on CareScout.com, completeness of the community profile, input from employees and local advisors, a community's contracted status with CareScout, and the frequency of visits to the community's website and location. Communities can earn a maximum score of 10.

What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

Park Shore is a senior living community praised for its friendly and knowledgeable staff, particularly in physical and occupational therapy. Many residents and their families appreciate the supportive environment, with opportunities for activities and committees, allowing for a balance of busyness and relaxation. The location in Madison Park offers a scenic view of Lake Washington and access to local amenities like banks, restaurants, and Starbucks. The community is described as upscale, with beautiful individual apartments, most offering stunning views. The staff is noted for being considerate, patient, and hardworking, contributing to a positive atmosphere. However, some reviews mention challenges, such as limited parking and communication issues regarding residence options and quality of care. The nursing care rooms on the second floor are described as drab and depressing by some, and there is a perception that more effort is put into marketing than serving current residents. Despite these concerns, many still recommend Park Shore for its excellent rehabilitation services and overall care, although some feel the price does not match the quality.

June 2025

This place is beyond disgusting. They lobby looks like a movie set, then you come to where the residents live or stay. I have pointed out a dead beetle on the floor for three days and it is still there. Just had my shower, no toiletries, no tooth paste for four days now. This place charges for a buy-in and a huge monthly fee.

7125 Fauntleroy Way SW, Seattle, WA, 98136
Assisted Living · Memory Care · Independent Living · Nursing Home · Continuing Care Retirement Community

West Seattle’s only continuing care retirement community started more than a century ago with a dream. The estate of Seattle pioneers Samuel and Jessie Kenney called for creation of what they deemed “a home for the aged” providing “shelter, care and comforts of home.” A dedicated Board of Trustees spent the next decade carrying out the couple’s plans. Incorporated on June 20, 1901, the Samuel and Jessie Kenney Presbyterian Retirement Home housed its first residents in various locations owned by the Kenney estate, primarily in what is now downtown Seattle. The West Seattle Kenney started with the Seaview Building, which opened its doors to residents in 1909. The 1950s and 1960s saw the addition of the Sunrise Building and the Calvin Health Center. The Ballymena, named after Samuel’s birthplace in Ireland, opened in 1985. Then, in 2003, the Lincoln Vista Assisted Living Building opened, complete with a fitness center and community rooms. Today, we continually evaluate the needs and desires of our residents and our community to ensure that we are well positioned for future stability and growth. We’re proud to say that what started out as one couple’s dream is now one of most respected not-for-profit retirement communities in the region, if not the nation. Our mission – and Samuel and Jessie Kenney’s vision – of “life enhancement for the senior community” lives on.…
