The Hearthstone, a continuing care retirement community in Seattle, receives mixed reviews from residents and visitors. Many praise its vibrant community atmosphere, caring staff, and prime location near Green Lake, which offers scenic views and recreational opportunities. The facility is described as clean, well-maintained, and offering a range of activities and amenities, including exercise classes, excursions, and a well-equipped gym. Residents appreciate the sense of community and support from staff, who are often described as kind, attentive, and compassionate. However, some reviews highlight concerns, particularly regarding the food quality and variety, with complaints about repetitive and oily meals. A few reviews mention management decisions that negatively impacted residents, such as declining to readmit a resident after hospitalization. The cost of living at The Hearthstone is noted as high, with some finding it expensive compared to other options. The facility's accommodations receive mixed feedback; while some find the rooms spacious and well-designed, others feel they are small and outdated. Despite these criticisms, many residents express satisfaction with their living experience, citing the community's strong reputation, the convenience of nearby amenities, and the overall positive environment. The Hearthstone is recommended for those seeking a supportive and engaging retirement community, though potential residents are advised to consider the costs and specific needs before making a decision.

I have due diligence advice before investing in a CCRC: Advice for buying into a CCRC- Caviat Emptor! Some of the CCRCs are in serious financial trouble and that information is difficult to find out because many of the troubled entities go out of their way to avoid being forthcoming. You MUST ask questions about the fiscal health of the CCRC and you MUST get full answers. Losses, debt, secured assets, ability to secure funds for operations, amount of reserves.???? Resistance or vague answers to question is a big RED Flag and time to continue your search elsewhere..
