"I have volunteered to stay with a few hospice patients who resided at the Avenue at Lyndhurst Nursing Home. Their rooms were always clean and a good size, there was a flat panel TV up on the wall, a refrigerator, and a shower stall. The families are allowed to bring personal belongings, flower pots or to hook up a DVD player to the TV. The facility runs activities for those who can walk, such as bingo. At mealtimes the patients were fed by spoon if they couldn't feed themselves. The nurses and aides were responsive to the call lights.
