"My parents were there many years ago and went in as a couple. My mom at the time only went in to be with my Dad who needed the memory care. We tried to have my Dad at home but it was not a sustainable situation at all. They had a 2 room unit. Sunny and nice and they liked it. They have both passed away since that time but in reflection I do believe they received excellent care there and honestly would like to thank the staff and administration." - Joy…

"My husband is not completely settled in, but we are getting there. Everyone has been amazingly helpful. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make the move in experience pleasant. I am striving to be able to call all of the staff by their first names; likewise, they want to know my name and with whom I go. When I tell them, the response is always the same: “Oh I know Mr. Paul. He’s so nice!” I know that the staff members do know Paul, so I feel very comfortable when I leave because I know he will get wonderful loving care." - Shirley…

"We have had such a positive experience with our mom moving in. She has been there a little over a month and we have found the staff to be very caring, and patient. They respond to questions quickly and again with patience for us. It’s a huge adjustment for mom and I feel like they have been kind and helpful. Very clean, everyone is friendly, and mom enjoys the food. I am happy that they encourage her to join in activities and offer many different kinds which has been much better than just watching tv all day." - Adrianne…

"Terrible turnover of staff. Many nurses have left; therefore, they are using agency nurses which at times have given inadequate care. Ashford nurses have neglected to make sure they answer the pharmacy if refills are needed or contact the doctor if a new script is required. At times, meal delivery has been extremely late. Many times, the meal is not complete. Substituting food is one thing, serving a plate full of vegetables with little meat is another. Not acceptable, and I doubt their nutritionist would approve of the meal. The laundry rooms are dirty. There is always a pile of clothing left in the laundry room. The aides seem incapable of making sure a resident receives all their clothing back. No regard to their personal property! Aides are not very responsive at times. You could wait forever to receive help to the bathroom and assisted showers are regularly missed. They will listen to your complaints, but do not expect anything to change." - Lynn…

The figures below show the average monthly starting costs for assisted living of nearby cities. Keep in mind that these figures are an average, and that the numbers used to calculate it spanned a wide range. In fact, CareScout data suggests that most families will underestimate their monthly budget by almost 20%, meaning that once inclusions and services are factored in, they can actually afford more than they originally thought.
