"I just wanted to do a review on Vista Springs – Parma as to why NOT to put a loved one here: -Very dirty – filthy place – they do not clean the residents or their rooms - sticky kitchen & bathroom floor, don’t throw garbage out. They leave food in the refrigerator for days – months. -Very high turn over with staff – one day they are there working the next they are not there -They don’t take care of their residents – residents can call or buzz for help- they do not come in right away – takes them a long time to check on them to make sure everything is ok – or to even change them -It is in your lease that you can have a car parked there – well all of a sudden they were giving us a hard time – they said if it was not moved – they will have it towed -Staff was nice in the beginning – because they wanted your money – not so much your loved one -Food is terrible – very salty - if you cannot go downstairs to eat – they bring food up to your room – and put it on your little kitchen table – if you cannot get up out of bed – then how are you able to go in your kitchen to eat – then they were going to charge $300.00 a month to bring food to the rooms – then said – oh well – we are not doing that now -For how much they charge – you would think that the rooms would be cleaned and they would help their residents – they just want the money I can keep gong on and on – but in the end – if you love your loved one – this is NOT the place." - Sandy…

"Mom and Dad have made their home at the Athenian Village for the past two years. When my sister and I began looking for Assisted Living facilities, we anticipated a long search. The Athenian was the second place we visited, and we quickly realized our search was over. It doesn't have that "hospital" or "institution" vibe at all. Rather, the dining room feels more like a family restaurant. The food is excellent, with a daily menu. My Mom, who is a very picky eater loves the fact that there is always an alternate menu selection. She really loves ice cream, too! Their little apartment is amazing, complete with a small kitchenette. Athenian Village is clean and well maintained. The best part is the team, led by owner Ed Gates is professional, friendly and treats their residents like family. We have been caught up in the bureaucracy of filing for Medicaid for Mom and Veteran's Assistance for Dad for almost two years now. Mr. Gates has been patient, kind and informative as we are navigating these difficult roads. His leadership team includes Rita, Director of Nursing and Administrative Assistant Kathleen. Both of these ladies are outstanding and we look forward to seeing them each time we visit. Mom and Dad love when Nurse Practitioner Denise visits, and receive outstanding medical care from Nurses Jackie, Amy and Theresa. We are so grateful to have found the Athenian Village. If you are looking for quality care for your loved one, look no further! Thanks, Ed and team." - Julie.…

After so many hospital and rehab stays it's great to know that he is safe and well cared for. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Park Creek. Thank you to the wonderful staff!" - Caroline…

"This is not the place to send a loved one. Consistently understaffed, you can be guaranteed long waits for call button response. Communication is abysmal. Food is beyond horrid and nearly always cold with no attention to the needs or preference of the patient. Transport is inconsistent and attention to detail is sorely lacking. Rooms are old with broken equipment that you will be lucky to get fixed and aside from a few individuals the majority of staff were unconcerned and creatively hard to find. Plan to be here daily if you have someone unfortunate enough to land in this sad imposter of a care facility." - D…

Keep in mind that these figures are an average, and that the numbers used to calculate it spanned a wide range. In fact, CareScout data suggests that most families will underestimate their monthly budget by almost 20%, meaning that once inclusions and services are factored in, they can actually afford more than they originally thought.
