Family. Hobbies. Travel. When you turned 70, did your passions fade? We didn’t think so. If anything, age strengthens those interests. But as you get older, you sometimes need a little help. At Brookdale Lake Charles, we can help you with the little things—like simple housekeeping and meals—and with bathing and getting dressed, too. With assisted living and memory care on one campus, we customize your care to meet your individual needs. So go do the things you love to do, and let us help with the rest. Try a crafting class in our arts and crafts studio, or join a Flex Your Brain class. Or maybe you want to join neighbors for happy hour? We’ll take care of the rest so you can focus on fun ways to spend your day. Your basic utilities and maintenance are all included so you won’t have as many bills to worry about. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that staff is on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Plus, you’ll have several floor plans to choose from so you’ll find just the right pet-friendly apartment to fit your style. You’ll have the care you need if you need it so you can focus on having what you want to do. Do you want to play bingo or trivia? Or both? Join friends for a B-Fit fitness class and then meet up for movie night. Or how about a cooking class or a casino trip? You can be as involved as much or as little as you choose. If you need to run errands but you don’t like driving in traffic, use our included transportation services to get you where you need to go. For memory care residents, the Daily Path is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs per day, which maintain our residents' abilities and encourage the use of their current skills. These include a morning cognitive workout with discussions, brain games and physical fitness opportunities like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing. But these structured activities come with engaging options. Gardening, karaoke and music programs are just a few of the activities your loved one could enjoy here.…

"In the last year, the people that live here full time have noted the following: 1. Safety and security lacking. Limited enforcement, if any enforcement, on no trespassing rules. No one to monitor who comes and goes on the property after 6 p.m. No cameras in halls and elevators. Pendants don't always work. 2. Maintenance of buildings is constant. we can get no answers as to why the numerous firings happen, NDA's? Morale of many in staff is extremely low. yet management is saying nothing. 3. It appears guests have more rights than the paying customers. Overstaying their welcome by weeks/months at a time with two-day intervals of absence to meet the guest rules. 4. Servers in the dining area, who work long hard hours, get called in on days off have concerns for their jobs. Many have two jobs but are always upbeat toward the residences and all know everyone by first name. 5. Leadership too busy taking credit for other's hard work. Otherwise. it's a nice place to be." - Michael…
