"Our family had a deeply disappointing and distressing experience with The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Franklin. If I could give them zero stars I would given the mismanagement of meds and constructed discharge that occurred. My father has dementia, and we trusted this facility to safely manage his memory care, medications, communication, and care planning. Unfortunately, our experience raised serious concerns in all of those areas. His intake paperwork documented that he should not receive a specific medication because it causes increased agitation. We later learned that he was given the generic version of that medication for a total of 5 weeks while at Morning Pointe. We trusted the facility, pharmacy, and care team to recognize and manage this safely. This caused behaviors, and ultimately my father was transferred to Vanderbilt geriatric psychiatry.
