"My mom lives there as their cook. She’s on her 70’s and very healthy and vibrant. Residents and family enjoy the variety of food she makes and do some extra cooking on holidays and events in the facility. I can honestly say that residents there are cared for and loved. The owner who is a retired Filipino doctor goes there almost everyday and supervised the facilities day to day operation. With your family living there you’ll have a peace of mind. "Ive been a resident at suncoast retreat for nearly 6 years. The reason i dont move is i have no transportation or resources to assist us with relocating. We were approached in the hospital by the manager to live her. I wasnt aware that its a fly by night operation at the suncoast retreat. No contingency plan should the bus driver call in sick or go on vacation. Many times i have had to reming the medication tech that i was prescribed a certian medication. The residents drink liquor freely and they become loud at night. Many arguments the end up being settled by deputies. Should the power go out there is no generator to supply alternative power for refrigerators and oxygen concentrators. Aides have to be reminded to assist residents for toilets and cleanups. Many different faces working here as they come and go like the wind. There is a serious lack of communication between residents and staff. "Aurora Gardens in New Port Richey has friendly staff who try to be helpful, but the home is poorly managed and often understaffed. The facility has gone through multiple directors in a short time, creating instability and poor oversight. The owner takes no accountability for ongoing issues, and communication with families is minimal. Our loved one often complained about the quality of the meals, which were neither healthy nor well-balanced. There are no consistent activities to keep residents engaged, and the facility has faced serious issues—including bed bugs and numerous complaints—leading ACHA to place a moratorium on new admissions.
