"I would give 0 stars if I could. This place is a hell hole for one. They don't have enough food for the residents, so people have to share food!!! Then staff tell them that there isn't enough money to buy more food !! The second one is that they are under staffed they only have one caregiver for all six cottages for the whole night. They give the residents safety pendants, but they don't work, and when they do work, staff ignore them. My grandma was using her pendant, and no one came. i came down there and found a nurse playing on her phone as another woman was screaming in pain. The nurse just sat there and didn't even check on her!!!! Now there are some staff that do their absolute best they can, and I thank them, but half of these nurse's do not care about the residents. Also, the med techs dont even know what each resident takes, and when a resident asks what the medicine is, they just tell them to take it. "My mother has been there since March 21, 2005. I was impressed with the on-site tour prior to making my decision. I observed the operation aspect of the facility and noticed unison in teamwork along with great communication. As I watched the interactions between the care givers and residents there was the distinct feel of caring and compassion. I have visited my mom at random and unannounced times and observed the same atmosphere. The staff does an outstanding job in communicating with me via personal phone calls where they report their daily and weekly observations. It's comforting to know there is a nurse and staff on site, and that doctors regularly visit and do patient assessments. Those doctors are able to address and treat issues as they arise, thereby eliminating me having to drive to pick her up and then to an appointment.
