"I lived at this facility for almost a year. This was my first experience living in this environment. Here are my complaints: 1: mail: the staff sorts the mail and puts your mail in a cubby that you share with a roommate. There were 3 important pieces of mail that I never received. I found out about this months later. 2: activities: practically none. All they offer is coloring, bingo, or if resident decide to play bunko or Mexican Train. There are NO outings or day trips or walks of any kind. 3: the management and staff lie to the residents on a regular basis. They told me I had to buy headset for my TV. Told me everyone uses them. After walking through the halls, I found out that practically all the residents do not use them I spent $117 needlessly. 4: I was fortunate enough to be able to take my medications myself but many residents complained of med room mistakes and not getting their meds in a timely manner. I don't know what kind of training the med room staff has. 5: Favoritism: Certain residents get preferential treatment. Their meals are substituted easily,they get extra milks, hot chocolate, etc. I noticed that the residents whose family are proactive get a lot of extra time and attention." - Debra… Read more

"I must say for myself and any family having to make the tough decision to place your loved one in a facility because it became so overwhelming that it took a toll on your own physical and mental wellbeing then this is the place. I searched and visited many facilities prior to me choosing Mountain View Center. I visited them a couple times and was able to meet the Owner, Coordinators, the caretakers, the cook, all the helpers I just knew that they stood out far beyond any others I went to. First thing that stood out was how immaculate everything was and it smelled so fresh and clean. This was very important for me if my mom going to live here. They gave me a tour of facility and the living quarters where my mom would stay. She has her own bedroom whom she shares with a wonderful roommate. They were very careful about matching mom’s roommate, so they carefully introduced my mom to a few ladies and we found the perfect one. My family member was bed bound and everything from the caregivers establishing a personal connection to the amazing food and cleanliness of the home was above and beyond any others I have seen. "Do not send anyone you care about here. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Raphael will tell you everything you want to hear when you go there for a tour, but don't believe it. When we first got there, we had to move furniture around... they didn't have a hospital bed ready... not TV set up, nothing. He is hardly ever at the facility. Maybe 1 hour on Saturday Mornings and also just to greet new clients. My mom was neglected and when she called out someone for doing something wrong, she was punished. The food is not that great, the staff only makes what they want to eat. We had to bring in food for my mom. Also, the caretakes smoke inside, they try to hide it, but you can smell it. One time I was there and one of the guys started to bring a lit cigarette in and realized I was there. We even found a cigarette packs in my moms wheel chair. My mom has asthma and she had to call 911 after an all night party that the care takers had there. The smoke was so bad that she had to go to the hospital, she couldn't breathe. They told her it was in her head. But that is not true. My sister and I smelled it and strong Lysol to try to cover it up. She also got bed sores from them not taking proper care of her.
