Reviews of Prestige Senior Living West Hills are mixed, with many positive comments alongside serious concerns. Positive reviewers describe a clean, bright, attractive, and home-like community with friendly, caring, and welcoming staff. Families frequently praise the directors, nurses, caregivers, maintenance team, and activities staff for being helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive. Residents and families mention comfortable rooms, attractive common areas, peaceful surroundings, good views, and a generally warm atmosphere. Activities such as bingo, exercise classes, arts and crafts, outings, concerts, yoga, and social events are often appreciated. Several reviewers report that their loved ones are happy, engaged, safe, and improving, while others praise the food, especially homemade bread, soups, salmon, and varied menus. Tours were commonly described as informative and pleasant, although some visitors found the building dated, difficult to navigate, or in need of maintenance. Negative reviews focus primarily on staffing and management. Multiple families report chronic understaffing, high employee turnover, long or unanswered response times, inadequate training, missed showers, housekeeping problems, and care services that were charged for but allegedly not delivered. Some reviewers describe repeated medication errors, poor communication, unsafe care, and management that was dismissive of concerns. Food quality and dining sanitation are recurring criticisms, including bland, burned, or unappealing meals and concerns about residents losing weight. Some also mention limited activities, unavailable transportation, isolation, and strict or confusing procedures. Overall, the reviews suggest a community with caring individual employees and appealing amenities, but inconsistent experiences that may depend on staffing, management, and residents’ care needs. Prospective families should tour repeatedly, inspect current staffing and meal services, review care plans and billing carefully, and ask residents and families about recent conditions.
