"A family member lives here and has mixed reviews. They like the community but don’t care much for the activities. The assisted living staff is efficient, caring and generally immediately available. They do, however, continually complain about the dining experience. The kitchen runs out of food, they have sometimes waited an hour to be served, the portions are small, and the food is mediocre (at best). The management and staff are very nice and friendly, but slow to get things done. They seem very short staffed, which create issues in the day to day flow of services." - K… Read more

There is not a staff person there who my family has not felt was personally engaged in accommodating the residents. We placed my 91 year old mother in an independent living apartment there four months ago following the sudden death of her husband of nearly 70 years. Her son had died less than a week earlier at Christmas. My mother has a fair degree of dementia and could not live alone. "I am the brother-in-law for one of the Assisted Living residents at Grand Court Mesa. Since an unfortunate fall by our loved one early in 2024 while in independent living, we moved her to the hospital, to the rehab center and then to a care home for several months. At the care home, with which she was desperately unhappy with the care team and her accommodations in a shared room, she was visited by Denise Jacobelli, the nurse practitioner from SCAN. Ms. Jacobelli recommended to us that for about the same monthly cost, my sister-in-law could move into Grand Court Mesa Assisted Living. After reaching out to Grand Court's Community Liaison, Rachel Thrasher, we quickly determined that she could move into their Assisted Living for a marginal amount more, given her situation, and in her own apartment! "My dad was well known within this community. He lived there several years in the independent living area. When he returned he was welcomed with open arms. During COVID, we weren't able to see him, so we would do Skype sessions, unfortunately his condition declined because of it. When we were able to see him again, we made sure to improve his physical condition. Slowly things changed with the facility, where they would say he pushed his call button too much and not able to feed himself anymore. Neither were true. I was there once, when caregiver came in and Dad was not in a position to push his call button and caregiver said he did (which was impossible). I realized they wanted him out of there. We eventually did leave because he started to experience PTSD because of how they treated him and what they did to him. My dad was a kind, gentle man. "I enjoyed the way I was treated by all the nurses on the floor and elsewhere to even though I had burns on my legs the wound care nurses Anna,Claudia,Joslin, and Julia treated my wounds with care like as if they knew how bad it hurt. And I think they did a great job and with kindness and heart. I was in room 1110 their rooms are awesome clean and very private and your attended too the way your suppose to be and never have to wait for your meds because they are on it right on time. Also the girls at the front desk are so courteous and helpful and ready to help anyone and thats Casey, and Ali thank you. Also they have activities and the girls that run that are so patient and helpful and kind and you have so much fun making something different all the time and they make bingo and crafts fun to do.
