What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

Brookdale Niagara receives mixed reviews, with many praising its caring staff, clean environment, and comprehensive care services. Several reviewers commend the facility for its friendly and attentive staff, who often go above and beyond to ensure residents' well-being. The community is described as clean, welcoming, and homey, with a variety of activities and good food. Many families express satisfaction with the enhanced assisted living services, noting that their loved ones are happy and well-cared for. However, some reviews highlight concerns about the high cost and occasional miscommunication or understaffing issues. A few reviewers mention that the facility can be slow to respond to medical needs and that some staff members may lack training. There are also comments about the limited space in common areas and the shared community shower, which some find inconvenient. Despite these concerns, many families feel reassured by the level of care provided and appreciate the facility's ability to accommodate residents with varying needs. The smaller community size is often seen as a positive, allowing for more personalized attention. Overall, while Brookdale Niagara is generally well-regarded for its compassionate care and pleasant environment, potential residents and their families should weigh the higher costs and occasional service issues when considering this facility.

I am grateful for the care my father received at Brookdale during a very difficult time. The staff were attentive and kind. My family was also very appreciative of the support they provided during his passing. My dad lived there less than 12 months, and we found it to be the best fit considering all our options. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the food was good.

Brookdale Niagara Memory Care in Wheatfield NY has been a great solution for our mom. Our father could not care for mom safely in the home and we were searching for a loving and safe solution for mom. We toured four facilities and decided on Brookdale Niagara because of the small environment, excellent reputation for care and kind staff. it has been a smooth transition getting mom settled. We all feel relieved that it went so well. We would give this team a 5 stars overall. Great communication, flexibility with our family, terrific food, and most of all our Mom is happy. We all wish we had moved sooner to solve this tough situation.

Horrible experience. My mom was here for 16 months. They overcharged her when moving in and tried to overcharge her when moving out. They lost numerous articles of her clothing including an expensive winter wool coat, Laundry ruined her $150 wig by putting it in the washing machine--not once--but twice! Sent mom to the hospital twice unnecessarily--doctor there said nothing was wrong and she shouldn't have been sent by ambulance. Gave hospital and ambulance mom's old insurance info--which they didn't correct until I notified them several times. Mom fell over 15 times. When we picked mom up for church, she had crumbs all over her face and had had an accident in her pants. When we picked up mom for Thanksgiving, she had on another resident's pants which were 2 sizes too big and old man socks on. Mail addressed to me kept coming with an incorrect first name. In 16 months, Brookdale Memory Care Niagara had 3 Executive Directors, 2 Activity Directors, 2 Business Managers, and 2 Health and Wellness Directors. There was absolutely no continuity. Lastly, I was supposed to receive a Care Plan within 2 weeks of mom's moving in. I didn't receive it until I requested it 3 months later, and it contained incorrect medical information. I could go on and on. There were a few people who were helpful: Angela and Brandi in activities and Debbie, the nurse. They were the only go-to people there. I moved Mom to Elderwood at Wheatfield Memory Care where she is receiving great care. Please do not subject your loved one to Brookdale.

Our mother lived at the Enhanced Assisted originally the moves last year to the memory care at the Brookdale Niagara Campus. Our experience has been extremely positive. Mom had the best quality care for her entire stay. She lived here for three years total. The staff are all so kind and caring. We are so grateful to each and every one. The assisted living is so bright, open and lovely. We were worried how the transition to memory care would go but to was seamless. The admissions manager helped us again and it went well. Our family gives the highest recommendation to anyone searching for the best care around. Try very hard to get here. We had another family member live here several years ago and we were just as pleased. Thank you to the Brookdale Niagara Team for doing what you do.
