CareScout Community Score

Based on CareScout’s proprietary scoring.

The CareScout Community Score is calculated using our proprietary rating system, created to help families make well-informed choices about senior living options. This score is determined using a comprehensive set of criteria, including sentiment analysis of online ratings and reviews, user-submitted feedback on CareScout.com, completeness of the community profile, input from employees and local advisors, a community's contracted status with CareScout, and the frequency of visits to the community's website and location. Communities can earn a maximum score of 10.

indicates a community has a contract with CareScout, meaning we receive a fee from the community or an advisor, after a family has moved in. Contracted communities receive additional points toward their Community Score; however, it's possible for a community to earn a score of 10 even if they are not contracted with CareScout.

What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a CareScout representative for details.

Victoria Manor receives mixed reviews, highlighting both positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, many reviewers commend the caring and attentive staff, describing them as hardworking, friendly, and communicative. The facility is noted for its reasonable pricing, quaint atmosphere, and well-maintained environment. Residents and their families appreciate the social activities, such as bingo and game nights, and the quality of food provided. Some reviewers mention that management is hands-on and involved in daily operations, contributing to a sense of safety and care for the residents. However, there are significant criticisms as well. Some reviewers express concerns about staff shortages, inadequate medical care, and insufficient activities for residents, particularly those with dementia or Alzheimer's. There are allegations of nepotism, with family members of the director employed at the facility, leading to perceived favoritism and inconsistent treatment of staff. A few reviews mention issues with payroll and communication, as well as reports of neglect and disrespect towards residents. One alarming incident involved a resident leaving the facility unnoticed and being injured, raising concerns about security and supervision. Overall, while some families have positive experiences and find Victoria Manor to be a good value, others report serious issues that impact the quality of care and safety of residents. Potential clients are advised to carefully consider their loved ones' needs and visit the facility to assess its suitability.

Rose Manor in Oakdale, PA is truly the best place you can choose for a loved one. Every time I visit my friend, she is genuinely happy and speaks so highly of her care. The staff is warm and attentive, the meals are wonderful, and the activities keep residents engaged. What makes Rose Manor unique is that you get all the benefits of a top-tier personal care home without the downsides of a massive, multi-story commercial building. Your loved one won't just be a number here—they are truly part of the home. The setup allows every employee to know each resident by name, creating a real family atmosphere in a newly renovated, beautiful environment. I highly recommend it!

I was looking for information on survivors benefits for my mother-in-law. My father-in-law was a veteran. My mother-in-law was seeking assistant living. I filled in my name number and email address for assistance from seniority for Oakdale PA. Jerry contacted me immediately. We corresponded by E-mail. Jerry gave me very good information that helped my mother-in-law to connect with the right person. She is on her way to Senior Living. Jerry told me I could contact him or Kayna anytime. It was simple and did not cost me anything. He was very trustworthy. I am glad I made the call.
