Avery Heights presents a mixed impression. Externally, it resembles an abandoned military base or haunted house, possibly due to the time of year affecting its appearance. However, the interior is impressive, with spacious apartments and full kitchens. The facility offers convenient parking with an elevator-accessible garage, reducing the physical strain for residents. Avery Heights is noted for its flexibility in pricing, allowing residents to opt out of certain services to lower costs, which is significant given the high monthly rent. The facility is clean, though it could benefit from some remodeling, as it seems the focus has been on the apartments themselves. Avery Heights supports independent living and allows residents to age in place, with options for assisted living services if needed. The environment is described as warm and home-like, surrounded by natural beauty. The staff is consistently praised for being friendly, caring, and attentive. The facility offers a variety of activities, including music therapy, bingo, game nights, and movie nights, contributing to a vibrant community atmosphere. Residents have access to entertainment and relaxation, and the camaraderie among guests is evident. Overall, Avery Heights is recommended for its excellent care, friendly staff, and engaging activities, making it a suitable choice for elderly individuals seeking a supportive living environment.

July 2026

I cannot recommend Avery Heights based on my family's experience. My mother suffers from Lewy Body dementia, one of the most challenging and heartbreaking conditions a family can face. When we first met with Avery Heights, we were given what seemed like a compassionate, empathetic sales presentation. Looking back, that empathy felt more like part of the sales process than a genuine commitment to my mother's well-being. It left us with the impression that filling a room was a higher priority than determining whether Avery Heights was truly the right place for her. As our concerns grew, I reached out to the head nurse and requested copies of the nursing and social work documentation that should have been in before our scheduled phone call. Rather than providing the records or explaining what had been documented, my request was ignored, and staff instead insisted on having a phone conversation. That raised serious concerns for me about the quality and consistency of their documentation
